It cosmetics CC cream review

Beauty, Style

I have been using the IT cosmetics cc cream for around 2 weeks now which isn’t a long time to be trying out a new foundation, I know, but I have been so impressed with it! I don’t think I could go back to my normal foundation now. I brought it when I was in London a couple of weekends ago after seeing their posters in Selfridges showing how flawless the cover was, so I was intrigued to see if it really was that good. The lovely makeup artist there did my makeup for me and I tried it out as we continued shopping, and it felt so light on the skin and whenever I passed a mirror couldn’t believe how great my completion looked so immediately went to go and buy it.

The main reasons I have fallen in love with this CC cream is…

  1. The coverage is amazing, it eliminates any redness and it is buildable so you can wear it lighter or go fo a full coverage when you’re going out.
  2. It contains skincare so fells like it helping your skin rather than breaking you out.
  3. It has a 50+ SPF so its great for protecting your skin too
  4. The packaging, its in a tube which easy to take around with you, and the pump is really useful for dispensing the right amount.
  5. It feels really great on the skin, I don’t feel like I’m wearing any foundation. And it doesn’t separate if my skin gets oily which is really helpful, I don’t have to worry that It looks like my makeup is sliding off.

So I would definitely recommend IT!

Thanks so much for reading, I hope you found it useful if you are looking for a new product that covers and conceals everything whilst not feeling like you’ve got tonnes of product on your face.

What foundation do you use? Would you recommend it? xx

The ‘you beauty’ advent Calendar 2017

Beauty

A review…

P1010727For the past couple of years i have had the Youbeauty Advent calendar leading up to Christmas and I evidently like it to go back to the same one each time.

I think the reason i like it so much is that it contains a variety of beauty products from skincare to makeup to hair. And each year has been completely different. It also isnt too ridiculously over priced.

So this year in the advent calendar i got ….

An eyeshadow brush

a revolution eyeshadow palette

P1010736

Nip and fab travel palette

ciate gel kohl liner

the organic pharmacy lip and eye cream

Ren firming beauty shot

Kitsch elevated bobby pins

The white company home spray

dr. organic snail gel eye serum

Whitening toothpaste

sport fx face mist and fix

sukin hydrating mist toner

Bare minerals skinlongevity

skinfix hand repair cream

illuminating primer

body oil

nail varnish

Oribe texturising spray

maroccan oil hair mask

shampoo and conditioner

Browcote

Some i loved, some i might not use as much like the anti ageing products and snail gel because i don’t really need to use ant ageing yet haha. It would be really good if beauty brands could do advent calendars by skin type or something like that. like one to hydrate, one for anti ageing, one for acne prone, something like that would be really helpful.

My favourite products were the travel palette because i think it will be a really useful ‘one stop’ palette to take places with me.

I also really liked the browcote as it truly does keep my eyebrow makeup in place for a lot longer.

Hair wise i was super excited to get the oribe texturising spray and it is really good for my fine hair to add a bit more volume and style.

Hope everyone has had a lovely Christmas! thanks so much for reading 🙂

Make up I’m loving…

Beauty, Style

Its now October and feeling very autumnal so today I thought I’d do a post on the makeup I’ve been loving recently.

In terms of eye shadow I’ve been reaching for the more autumnal browns and oranges. So I’ve been loving the urban decay full spectrum palette because I’m completely in love with the yellows and shadow colour’s like midnight blaze that has a slight khaki green undertone to it.

For days when I’m wanting a more neutral look, I love either the Chanel quad (in 204 tisse vendome) or the urban decay Naked original palette. The Chanel palette has some beautiful browns and a really pretty rose gold in it which you can build up to make it more smokey or wear quite naturally. From the Urban Decay palette I love the colour’s smog, darkhorse, toasted and hustle. These are some gorgeous brown and burgundy shades perfect for autumn.

Scent wise I’ve been loving these two from Gucci: Gucci flora and Gucci Guilty. They are both quite fresh and floral scents.

In terms of mascara the Maybelline lash sensational mascara is really the only one I reach for as its affordable and makes the lashes look long and thick but it is quite a clumpy mascara which I quite like but I know some people don’t. Then I use the  soap & Glory supercat eyeliner because its so easy to use and is really black; I’ve used some other eyeliner pens before and they come out a more grey colour and I end up having to apply a few coats of it but with this one it glides on easily and looks great. For eyebrows I use the Bobbi brown eyebrow pencil in the colour Ash, I’m really liking it so far but it is a little pricey so I don’t know if I will buy it again or not? let me know if you know any really good cheaper alternatives. Then sometimes I will use the Tarte tinted brow gel if i’m out for a long time to set the brows in place for a bit longer.

For the foundation I really like the finish of the Bare minerals powder foundation: it makes the skin look really glowy and fresh however it can be a bit drying particularly if you have dry skin. I always put on a good layer of moisturizer before applying it.

Then for highlight i’m loving the Topshop one in the shade crescent moon, it leaves a really beautiful highlight on the face and stays for a long time.

For lips I’ve been wearing this liquid lipstick from NYX in shade 04. Its a really nice rosey- nude that I think will suit a lot of skin tones.

To read about my outfit read my previous blog post 🙂

I hope you enjoyed reading about my current everyday makeup routine and the makeup I’m loving at the moment for autumn. What are you loving? How are you feeling about autumn so far?

Please feel welcome to like and comment, I’d really appreciate it! And let me know what posts you’d like to see in the future 🙂

Skincare Saviors

Beauty, Style

For the past 6 months or so I have been using the Proactive skincare 3 step core system which is their skin smoothing exfoliator, pore targeting treatment and complection correcting hydrator. If after reading this you want to try it yourself click here: https://www.proactiv.co.uk/proactiv-kits.html?ref=home-kits#qExwYzdulF3lRUR6.97

They often have discounts and it is much cheaper ordering it than getting it in boots.

Why does my skin love it?

My acne has cleared up so much since using it, the products don’t seem to irritate it and make it red and my skin still feels moisturized after using it.

The only thing I would say is that I wish they had more of the moisturizer because the exfoliator seems to last forever but I seem to run out of moisturizer much quicker.

The exfoliator is really good at clearing up my skin whilst not making it red and dry. Whilst the treatment and moisturiser close up my pores and keep my skin hydrated. I was told I have dehydrated skin so it gets really dry but also really oily and these seem to be the best products for my skin.

It has sylicalic acid in it which can make you more prone to sunburn so I do tend to use a foundation with spf in it like the Charlotte tilbury magic foundation or a suncream on my face most of the time.

My angled lob…

Beauty, Style

I have always had long hair until a couple of years ago when I decided to get it all cut off and donate it to charity! A lot of people find this daunting seeing their hair come off into little ponytails but to me it was such a relief having the weight of my hair out and I much preferred my hair as each piece was being cut out. The only thing I was anxious about was the question; what if it won’t suit me? but it would eventually grow back anyway and I wanted a change.

Today I got it styled in a way I actually really like although I hope the curls drop out a little by the morning as it looks like I’m going for a bit of a 70s vibe! Thanks so much to the francesco group though for my ‘fresh’ cut haha.

before… It was getting really long!

after….

They used a hydrating spray, sea salt spray and curled my hair with GHD hair straighteners. Also this is my natural hair colour although it kind of looks a little like balayage.

Trying out ‘acne ultrasound peeling’!

Beauty, Style

As a teenager, I have always suffered with acne and have tried so many products to clear out my congested skin.

Today I tried out the ‘peeling’ or ‘blade’ facial as an introductory trial at coco red in New Milton. Now this to me seemed terrifying at first however it does not men cutting out your spots! It does remind me of a razor in the sound and feel but it actually uses ultrasound technology to clear out your pores. The vibrations move it out of the pore basically! It felt really relaxing although the high pitched sound made it feel a little worrying but it didn’t hurt at all! The lady at Caci was really lovely as well; she was very passionate about skin and the effect clear skin had upon her clients.

She also gave me advise about what was causing the acne on my skin- apparently it is really dehydrated whereas i always thought my skin was more oily. The blade is also not so harsh as chemical exfoliants; although my skin dig red because it was basically like having all my acne squeezed at once it did calm down quite quickly.

Have you tried any of these kind of beauty treatments? Did they work for you?

I was really impressed by this technology and the appearance and feel of my skin so will hopefully be going back to have a few more facials! i will keep you posted on how it goes xxx
