The ‘you beauty’ advent Calendar 2017

Beauty

A review…

P1010727For the past couple of years i have had the Youbeauty Advent calendar leading up to Christmas and I evidently like it to go back to the same one each time.

I think the reason i like it so much is that it contains a variety of beauty products from skincare to makeup to hair. And each year has been completely different. It also isnt too ridiculously over priced.

So this year in the advent calendar i got ….

An eyeshadow brush

a revolution eyeshadow palette

P1010736

Nip and fab travel palette

ciate gel kohl liner

the organic pharmacy lip and eye cream

Ren firming beauty shot

Kitsch elevated bobby pins

The white company home spray

dr. organic snail gel eye serum

Whitening toothpaste

sport fx face mist and fix

sukin hydrating mist toner

Bare minerals skinlongevity

skinfix hand repair cream

illuminating primer

body oil

nail varnish

Oribe texturising spray

maroccan oil hair mask

shampoo and conditioner

Browcote

Some i loved, some i might not use as much like the anti ageing products and snail gel because i don’t really need to use ant ageing yet haha. It would be really good if beauty brands could do advent calendars by skin type or something like that. like one to hydrate, one for anti ageing, one for acne prone, something like that would be really helpful.

My favourite products were the travel palette because i think it will be a really useful ‘one stop’ palette to take places with me.

I also really liked the browcote as it truly does keep my eyebrow makeup in place for a lot longer.

Hair wise i was super excited to get the oribe texturising spray and it is really good for my fine hair to add a bit more volume and style.

Hope everyone has had a lovely Christmas! thanks so much for reading 🙂

Skincare Saviors

Beauty, Style

For the past 6 months or so I have been using the Proactive skincare 3 step core system which is their skin smoothing exfoliator, pore targeting treatment and complection correcting hydrator. If after reading this you want to try it yourself click here: https://www.proactiv.co.uk/proactiv-kits.html?ref=home-kits#qExwYzdulF3lRUR6.97

They often have discounts and it is much cheaper ordering it than getting it in boots.

Why does my skin love it?

My acne has cleared up so much since using it, the products don’t seem to irritate it and make it red and my skin still feels moisturized after using it.

The only thing I would say is that I wish they had more of the moisturizer because the exfoliator seems to last forever but I seem to run out of moisturizer much quicker.

The exfoliator is really good at clearing up my skin whilst not making it red and dry. Whilst the treatment and moisturiser close up my pores and keep my skin hydrated. I was told I have dehydrated skin so it gets really dry but also really oily and these seem to be the best products for my skin.

It has sylicalic acid in it which can make you more prone to sunburn so I do tend to use a foundation with spf in it like the Charlotte tilbury magic foundation or a suncream on my face most of the time.

Trying out ‘acne ultrasound peeling’!

Beauty, Style

As a teenager, I have always suffered with acne and have tried so many products to clear out my congested skin.

Today I tried out the ‘peeling’ or ‘blade’ facial as an introductory trial at coco red in New Milton. Now this to me seemed terrifying at first however it does not men cutting out your spots! It does remind me of a razor in the sound and feel but it actually uses ultrasound technology to clear out your pores. The vibrations move it out of the pore basically! It felt really relaxing although the high pitched sound made it feel a little worrying but it didn’t hurt at all! The lady at Caci was really lovely as well; she was very passionate about skin and the effect clear skin had upon her clients.

She also gave me advise about what was causing the acne on my skin- apparently it is really dehydrated whereas i always thought my skin was more oily. The blade is also not so harsh as chemical exfoliants; although my skin dig red because it was basically like having all my acne squeezed at once it did calm down quite quickly.

Have you tried any of these kind of beauty treatments? Did they work for you?

I was really impressed by this technology and the appearance and feel of my skin so will hopefully be going back to have a few more facials! i will keep you posted on how it goes xxx
